The moment as a storyteller/writer/artist when your character astonishes you with a major reveal - Me (while puzzling out this particular main character): So, why did you become an assassin, Akira? Akira Ishikawa: Because Tak died. Me (internal thought is boggled): Wait - *That* Takeshi? Akira: Takeshi Ogawa, who else? Me: I did not see that coming. But why did you -? Akira: He died and I wasn't there to protect him, and it's his old man's fault. I wanted to kill him for what he did to him. Me: Did you? Was that your first kill? Akira: No. The old man cheated us. Got drunk and fell into the river. Me: So, you were bros with Tak and E

I'm currently in the mood to pick up and finish some old projects that have been left unfinished since 2008-2009. With the completion of another project just recently - which puts me in an industrious mindset - I'm returning to my inks. The Celtic Seven ink project that had been on hiatus is now coming back. With three more to go, it shouldn't take too long and then I can finally move onto group pictures. =) Poor Sionn's been sitting there too long and I'm actually getting the Celtic knotwork pattern faster this time 'round than I did before. After that project, anything's game.

UPDATE FOR 5/12/11: Well, four months later, I've just hit a record 40 pages for my story. Almost at 20,000 words. This is huge for me - never thought I'd get that much out. My main character's going strong, the secondary characters all have their own voices and motivations, and the tertiary characters are also being fleshed out. So far, the plot's steam-rolling ahead and I'm getting a surprising hint at who the major antagonist is. I've also been joining a writer's exchange group at a local bookstore once a month (twice so far) and have read the beginning of the story twice (finally found the true introduction 20-30 pages in). Feedback is go
